We use Theraplay® techniques to help children and their parents or caregivers to communicate and connect in a playful and fun way. This is ideal for any child experiencing separation anxiety, dealing with divorce or loss in the family, or settling into a new family arrangement. It can also be really helpful to children with autism or ADHD where social relationships and communication are challenging.
Many children may be experiencing challenges outside of the home at school or with friends too. Having a good relationship with you helps empower you and your children to deal with those challenges. It also equips you to communicate your needs to the professionals in your child’s life. Schools may also access Beacon Training.
We work with pre-school through to teenage children. We work in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Coventry and the Midlands.
If you’re struggling to best support your kids through the challenges they face then please get in touch to talk through how Theraplay® can help.
What are our values?
Charlotte has worked with children, as a social worker, for 15 years and feels it’s really important to help them share their feelings and emotions. Play is a really powerful way for them to do that.
Playful interactions between parents and children are a time when emotions and feelings can be heard, seen and experienced. We will be there to support you through that process. Where children can express their feelings, to a parent or carer who can understand and support them, they learn to respect others and become more resilient.
All family relationships are unique and different and every parent and every child deserves the space and time to strengthen that relationship so that their interactions are joyful.
Julie is also an adoptive parent with first hand experience of the Looked After and Adoption systems and processes as well as the therapeutic interventions that help.
Julie is passionate about ensuring young people and their families are fully supported in school settings and that educators are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve this improving their outcomes.
